Fellowship Ideas

Fellowship Ideas

We live in a fast paced, technological age where it rarely is necessary to make contact with another human being. We can do just about everything by phone or through the internet with very little face-to-face human contact. Our need for fellowship is stronger than ever and as a small-group leader, you need to plan for additional times for your group to just fellowship. Here are a few ideas to help your group members connect with each other.

  1. Remember that some of the best and most meaningful times for a group can take place outside of the "official" group meeting time.
  2. Gather around food—it always is appreciated and provides opportunities for casual conversation.
  3. Use fun icebreaker activities for an entire meeting.
  4. Appoint an activities coordinator to plan events.
  5. Birthdays, holidays, lunch, concerts, meeting at a park or mall, and sporting events are just a few possibilities. Be creative.
