Your kids know about sex. But what they’ve gathered from TV, other kids, or the internet doesn’t tell them everything or answer all of their questions. What’s the Big Deal? was written to help parents provide the answers to their 8-to-12-year-olds. This book explains the basic facts about sex and related issues such as:
Your kids can read this book with you so you can discuss it together. This provides them the safe space to ask hard questions they might find embarrassing. The book will help kids understand what a beautiful and exciting gift from God sexuality is meant to be.

This book
explains the basic facts about sex and such related issues as:
Stan Jones, PHD, provost and professor of psychology at Wheaton College, is a nationally recognized Christian expert on sexuality. He has written books on psychology and Christianity and on homosexuality and has contributed numerous articles to such professional journals as American Psychologist.
Brenna Jones has graduate training in biblical and theological studies and leads an active ministry of discipleship and support for women. Stan and Brenna have three adult children.
I appreciate the way this book blends medical information with a
biblical theology of sexuality

"As a Christian Parent raised in a family that never discussed sex, I
found this book (and the series) to be a great starting point. It hits
all the right topics in a way that communicates a Christian view without
using guilt or sounding preachy. Parents should read it themselves,
then pass it on to their child. Don't wait for your child to hit puberty
before you start talking about this important subject."

"This entire series is great for introducing sex in a godly way from
a young age. I have found them to be informative, honest and clear
about the importance of sex being saved for marriage."

Great Series. I read books one and two to our daughter and my
husband read them to our son between the ages of 6 and 8. The third
book we chose to read to our 8 yr. old girl and 10 yr. old girl and 10
year old boy together as a family. We each read our "part" in the story
and they looked forward to reading each chapter. It was a wonderful
family time which I believe resulted in a healthy understanding of the
basic facts of life and took the "embarrassment" out of the subject. I
recommend these to all my friends!

I have found these books to be tremendously helpful to our family
when dealing with the subject of introducing sex to our daughters. The
content in each book is right on target and easily grasped by our girls.
The books use appropriate vocabulary geared to each age level. The
illustrations are also tastefully rendered. The hand drawn pictures
show just enough definition so children 'get the point' but not vividly
drawn that kids 'only' zero in on the reality of the picture. I
appreciate that greatly. Thank you Carolyn for an excellent book
series. We will be reading book 3 soon and looking forward to it.
