Puberty marks the beginning of significant changes in a child’s relationships with parents and the opposite sex. It’s an exciting but often stressful time as a child transitions to adulthood. Facing the Facts gives children the information needed to understand exactly what’s happening to their bodies during the years ahead and why God planned it to happen just that way. They’ll learn about
  • How girls’ and boys’ bodies change, both inside and out
  • Exactly how a woman gets pregnant and gives birth
  • Why God wants you to save sex for marriage
  • Love, dating, and how relationships mature
Now revised and updated with
  • An introduction to differing views on sex based on worldview
  • More thorough material on Christian morality and the broader theological meaning of sex as appropriate for a young person
  • Chapters on masturbation, sexual addiction, gender identity, and same-sex love

ll the information you need to understand exactly what's happening to your body during the years ahead - and why God planned it to happen just that way. You'll learn about:

  • The role of puberty in the development of sexuality
  • How girls' and boys' bodies change, both inside and out
  • Exactly how a woman gets pregnant and gives birth
  • Why God wants you to save sex for marriage
  • Love and dating: how relationships mature
  • Tough answers to some tough problems.

I appreciate the way this book blends medical information with a biblical theology of sexuality

"As a Christian Parent raised in a family that never discussed sex, I found this book (and the series) to be a great starting point. It hits all the right topics in a way that communicates a Christian view without using guilt or sounding preachy. Parents should read it themselves, then pass it on to their child. Don't wait for your child to hit puberty before you start talking about this important subject."

"This entire series is great for introducing sex in a godly way from a young age. I have found them to be informative, honest and clear about the importance of sex being saved for marriage."
- Christine Phillips

Great Series. I read books one and two to our daughter and my husband read them to our son between the ages of 6 and 8. The third book we chose to read to our 8 yr. old girl and 10 yr. old girl and 10 year old boy together as a family. We each read our "part" in the story and they looked forward to reading each chapter. It was a wonderful family time which I believe resulted in a healthy understanding of the basic facts of life and took the "embarrassment" out of the subject. I recommend these to all my friends!

I have found these books to be tremendously helpful to our family when dealing with the subject of introducing sex to our daughters. The content in each book is right on target and easily grasped by our girls. The books use appropriate vocabulary geared to each age level. The illustrations are also tastefully rendered. The hand drawn pictures show just enough definition so children 'get the point' but not vividly drawn that kids 'only' zero in on the reality of the picture. I appreciate that greatly. Thank you Carolyn for an excellent book series. We will be reading book 3 soon and looking forward to it.
