This series of studies has been designed specifically to help a group become a small, closely knit community motivated and empowered to worship and serve God. Each book in the series will help your group pursue the mystery of God, encourage the meeting of each other's needs, and how to live practically and genuinely in today's complex world.
9 sessions per book. Session format: overview, on your own, group discovery, let's act, group worship. Bible text included, final two sessions deal with personal and group application.
Authority is increasingly suspect in this individualistic age. Freedom of choice, whether in soft
drinks or sexuality, is
valued-even demanded. In times past, people viewed
authority as an accepted hierarchy. It was assumed that the
kings and nobles at the top would exploit the people below
them, who would in turn exploit those under them. People viewed the spiritual world in a similar
way with great gods, lesser gods, and spirits all functioning the same way.
Jesus' teachings on the kingdom of God radically rejected the
hierachichal view current in His day. His teachings are just as
outrageous in our culture today.
This study examines the counterculture of Jesus' kingdom,
helping believers understand their position under God's sovereignty.
